What is 5-HTP
Produced from the seeds of the African Plant Griffonia simplicifolia
5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a byproduct of the amino acid L-tryptophan, which is responsible for producing serotonin in the brain. The body makes 5-HTP from tryptophan, an amino acid often found in foods such as chocolate, oats, dairy products, pumpkin seeds, peanuts and a host of other food sources.
