Of all sleeping disorders, insomnia is the most common. The recommended dose is 250 mg. but this can increase to 1,500 mg a day, but the explicit instruction is that Phenibut cannot be taken more than twice a week to prevent any addiction or uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. Compared to benzodiazepines which are highly toxic, Phenibut does not cause an individual to experience severe side effects. However, pregnant and nursing mothers should not take this supplement because it can affect the health of the baby.

Also, with this nootropic, you do not have any problem with the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage of sleeping which is a necessary phase for achieving superior sleep. Likewise, you will  not feel euphoric or suffer mood swings. In fact, although you will lose some of your inhibitions with this nootropic, you will still retain all your mental faculties and be able to function normally.

Phenibut and Restless Leg Syndrome

Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is one reason for insomnia. RSL is triggered before sleeping which delays the sleep, and the sensation is not always concentrated in the leg area. RSL can happen along the arms, neck, and upper body. Unfortunately, there is no medical cure for RSL which is why Phenibut is recommended as it addresses the problem inadvertently.

It is important to note that dosage and frequency should be monitored carefully because this substance can lead to tolerance and addiction. If you need sleep or relief from RSL desperately, this is an option to consider. It’s a quick answer that must have medical approval, especially if you are on any maintenance drugs.

In conclusion, Phenibut and insomnia is a way out of a sleeping problem but is not in any way a permanent answer to your sleeping issues. It is a safe, legal substance as a supplement but not regulated by any government agency in the United States and Canada.  Aside from helping you sleep, Phenibut can improve cognitive abilities provided intake is not abused.
